Plaid Skirt

This summer,  I went to some garage sales with my grandma. We looked through the ads in the newspaper, scanning each description. I saw one that said "Vintage Clothes For Sale." We decided to go look, even though it was kind of far away. Although we got there later in the morning, there was still quite a bit left. I found this plaid skirt. (The picture over the chair is what it looked like; sorry it's not very good.)

I liked the pattern, and it wasn't very expensive, so we got it. It sat on the sewing table for a month or two, until about a week or 2 ago. Then I cut off about a foot (give or take a little), cut off the original waistband, and added an elastic band for the waist. It was really easy! And I learned how to use the blind hem attachment on the sewing machine!
Now, instead of being a floor-length skirt, it's a knee-length skirt.
Also, at the same sale, Mia got a vintage fur hat.
And at another sale, I purchased a "snack set" from the 50's ($5, but I asked for $2.50 and she said yes) and a old Richard Scarry book (free)!
