Circles Scarf

Inspired by Attic24, I made a lovely circles scarf!!!
I gave it to my grandma for Christmas- hope she liked it!

I crocheted this scarf out of Knitpicks' Wool of the Andes and Debbie Stoller's Full O' Sheep... it's 100 percent wool! I tried it on, and it's not really itchy.
I think I made 25 circles and joined them together using the join as you go method. (also from Attic 24) Or maybe twenty... I'm not exactly sure.

Here's the scarf all rolled up. It looks kind of like a tulip...

Here's the link to a post on Attic24 about a similar scarf that's much, much prettier than mine!

Bittersweet and Bottles!

The weather this Sunday was pretty warm (40s), so we all decided to go hiking in some woods behind a trail near our house. On the way, I suggested that we sit down to eat a snack and rest. While we were looking around for a good spot,  I saw a little hollow under some fir trees. By the time we all got under, my Dad noticed a junk pile right next to it. There we found an old camera (it was only plastic, but it was still cool), an old waffle maker, and lots of other old things. W
e also saw a Great Horned Owl, a deer scrape, some bittersweet and a bunch of neat old “Genuine Phillips Milk of Magnesia” bottles!

The Desk Set

Desk Set was a movie made in the 1950's- it was about 4 women who worked in an office and were worried when someone tried to put a computer in their department (research). For a better summary, click here.

This was the Freshman Play at school. I played the parts of a party guest and a reporter.
Everyone worked really hard and did a good job. It was really fun!
I also brought a lot of props because we have lots of vintage stuff around the house. (Like old cameras)

(we have this camera)
There's a little button that you press on top that releases the flashbulb.
During dress rehearsal the boy who was the photographer (not pictured) accidentally pressed that button. Oops. I kind of hoped that it would fall out during the play so I could glare at him... but it didn't. Oh well.
I also brought some books (as seen in previous posts) and other things (like a velvet men's robe)

Here are some pictures: (I have no pictures of the actual production - wasn't allowed to take any)

From left to right (parts in play) : Miss Warriner,  The Reporter, Mr. Abe Cutler, Man in Shirt Sleeves, and The Lady in the Blue Suit. (The girl in the Dr. Pepper shirt in between is the Lady in the Blue Suit's friend)

The February Lady Sweater, part II

Remember this sweater?

Well... I unraveled it. :(
It didn't fit very well and I did not like the sleeves. It also seemed to be too small, even though the measurements for the pattern were too large? I'm not sure how that happened!
I think I will make this vest instead:

So we'll see how that goes!!!
